Kwong Sang House

Got a dinner invitation by Steven and Audrey, was sort of puzzle when I enter the restaurant as the deco was a traditional taylor house. It was a tiny but cozy place with two storey of neat checkered tables with good spacing for close catch up with friends and family.

Hanging deco on wall with colorful thread rolls and L taylor ruler.

Foot paddel sewing machine with posters from yesteryears. Note the Ms Malaysia beauty pageant photo on the top left.

 Entrance of the shop.

The food and drinks menu, each uniquely decorated with buttons, thread, zipper etc.
We have a big group of 9 pax dining hence fortunate to be able to order a big variety of dishes to sample since this is the first time we were here.

For set dinner package, basically just add RM8.00 to any main meal on the menu. Comes with Soup/ Mixed Salad, Juice/Green tea and a scoop of ice cream.

Today's soup is Cream of Chicken Soup, served with 3 pieces of garlic bread.
The Mixed Green Salad was generously portioned, dressed nicely with balsamic vinegar and olive oil.
Margherita pizza - although hardly recognizable for the reason why this pizza was named after Margherita of Savoy. The red tomato, green basil and white cheese supposed to represent the Italian flag. Taste good though, with a dash of tabasco sauce.
Pasta de pesto - the noodle is cooked al dente, pesto sauce prepared the Malaysian way. Good choice.
For those who like heavier sauce, the carbonara sauce spaghetti with ham and mushroom is a good order.
Oven baked fish in creamy sauce, served with mashed potato, shaved carrot, tomato and blanched broccoli. The fish was a tad too cooked for my liking but generally a nice dish.
Chicken with pineapple served with pineapple sauce. Order only if you seriously like pineapple!
Chicken Cordon Bleu in red sauce - a slap of boneless chicken rolled around ham and soft cheese, then battered and breaded before deep fry. I don't know why the drenched the otherwise nice piece of meat. The only dish served with chips, of course.
Fish in butter sauce. Highly recommended. For those who are watch watchers, request the butter sauce to be served separately.

Last but not least, pesto pizza - read as oil and basil. Very heavy taste, it's good when one is hungry but this dish arrived last and there were 2 pieces leftover which Steven took home for lunch the next day.

The dishes are reasonably priced between RM16.90 to RM25.00. The shop is also a good waterhole with extensive list of drinks selection. Definitely a place worth revisiting.
